Not everyone gets the chance to go to their dream or play their dream sport, but Peyton Worby did both. Peyton is committed for this upcoming fall semester at Wagner College for women’s lacrosse and will major in sports communications.
Wagner College stood out from her other offers. “I chose Wagner because I loved the coaches and the variety of programs Wagner has to offer. I also picked it because it is a very small school which I knew I wanted due to the smaller class sizes.”
The location of Wagner also really impacted. Wagner is close to the city, which is about a two hour commute for Peyton. “I am so happy that Wagner is close, my family and friends can visit me whenever and they can also come to some of my games. I also love that it is close to home but the city as well.” The campus is gorgeous and she fell in love with it instantly as well. “What separated Wagner from other schools I visited was the beautiful campus and that because it is very close to the city I will have easy access to internships for my major.” She knew she wanted to stay closer to home, so this made it even easier to choose.
The coaches at Wagner made Peyton feel right at home, so it was a quick decision to make. She immediately felt a part of the family. She also felt a quick connection with the girls on the team as well. “The girls on the team have such a close bond and I already like all of them. I am so excited to play with this group for many years and they are all so funny and outgoing.”
She plays “attack” as her position, and is a beast on the field. Majority of girls on the team played other positions, so she was the missing piece to their team. This May, she officially signed to play for Wagner’s Women’s lacrosse team. Peyton has a full and bright future ahead of her and her athletic ability will definitely be missed at WHB!
