Catching Up 2020 Alum Jaden AlfanoStJohn
October 20, 2021
Jaden AlfanoStJohn, 2020 Hansen winner, transferred out of Long Island University to SUNY Cortland and is having an outstanding season.
After a year at LIU, Jaden decided he needed a change. He said, “LIU wasn’t a place for me and I simply was not enjoying my time and did not want to wait to play because I wasn’t old enough.” Luckily, his season at LIU does not count and he will be playing four years at Cortland.
Jaden’s decision to transfer turned out to be a good one. He is enjoying his time at Cortland and immediately felt welcome. “They accepted me with open arms,” he said.
Another benefit, according to AlfanoStJohn, is a better program at Cortland. He said, “The facilities, coaching staff and the culture is way better than LIU.” He continued, “My running back coach was the best quarterback in Cortland history, broke numerous records and has been a huge factor in helping me succeed.”
So far this season, Jaden has 205 rushing yards in 36 carries and 3 touchdowns for the season.
Good luck as a Red Dragon, Jaden!
