‘Tis the Season of Giving
Shopping for a Christmas present for a friend or a family member can be very difficult. You never know what the person you’re giving it to likes or if they won’t like it.
Kyle Watson, a junior here at WHBHS, mentioned that what makes a great present “is the giving part and seeing the person happy with there gift that you gave to them and its a great feeling.” Not everyone can be like Watson and appreciate feelings over material items.
Christmas has now turned into a form of materialism, where people are forgetting the true meaning of christmas. The feeling of giving should be what it’s really about. Cassie Deneuve, a sophomore, said that “it is nice to receive gift from people, but giving a gift is really nice.”
Most kids in these days expect bigger and more expensive gifts rather than smaller ones “because all of the smaller ones build up to the greater and more expensive gift.” said by Watson.
When buying a gift for someone, you should get to know them better and that will make shopping a lot easier.
