If you are interested in a school that’s warm with active sports year round, this may be the school for you. In a recent email, Ashley Memory, who works for the Office of Undergraduate Admissions at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, stated, “For this year’s entering class (Fall 2013), we enrolled about 4,000 students. We received applications from over 30,000 applicants and offered admission to 7,847.”
The average SAT scores for those who entered were between a 1938 and a 1948. The average ACT score to get in are 29.8. Ashley Memory also stated to “please note that there is no formula for admission-no one is automatically admitted or denied because of a single number such as test score.”
UNC has division one sports for those who are athletic. The boys cross country team is ranked number one in the southeast region (2013.) The University of North Carolina’s sports teams have some of the best statistics overall in its division. UNC has 13 different sports for men and 15 different sports for women. Some of the sports include sailing, rowing, track, soccer, wrestling, fencing and many more.
For undergraduates, the tuition to attend is $21,000 and with room and board is $34,040. By car the ride from WHB is about eight hours, but by plane it’s only a short hour! Charlotte airport is about two and a half hours from Chapel Hill. Outside of the college, there is a university mall only four minutes away. Also plenty of fast food and restaurants are right next to the mall. Also, North Carolina’s theme park Carowinds, is two hours away.
