Battling it Out at WHB
Last friday, 10 bands fought until the late hours of the night for the prize money of $200. Each band performed two to three songs, some original music and some all time favorites.
Bad Execution warmed up the crowd with some rock music and great vocals. Key Lime Die drew all the dancers out, and Mistakes continued to keep the crowd with Dan Taylor opening with “You’re Gonna Go Far Kid” by The Offspring. The band switched things up after with John Tocco on vocals for “Fluorescent Adolescent” by the Arctic Monkeys.
Performing second to last was Spicy… Yet Tender. Although the show already had a great turnout, Spicy… Yet Tender seemed to draw out the biggest crowd. With Marc Cotter on vocals, Aiden Kravitz on drums, Kasey Chockalingam on keyboard, and Luke Jurow on guitar, it was inevitable that they would do very well.
Blackfish finished off the show with a couple of original songs by Tom Eckart and Calvin Levine. Dakota Chiorando also helped out on guitar.
After much debate and a wait time of at least 10 minutes, the judges reached a decision. Announced at third was Bad Execution. In second place was Mistakes, and of course Spicy… Yet Tender took the first place title.
Thanks to all that attended and helped CURE raise money for new solar pannels! Great Job to all the bands! You can like some of the bands on Facebook here:
