WHB’s Favorite Ski Spots on the East Coast

Brody Schaffer and Aidan Kilroy

Skiing on the East Coast is a popular activity every winter. With many mountains to choose from, some perfect for beginner skiers, some for experts, and some with a little bit of both.

When asked, WHB’s favorite mountains on the East Coast included Killington, Stratton, Okemo, Mount Snow, and Jiminy Peak. Most of these mountains have a wide variety of trails such as beginner trails all the way up to trails for experts.

One of the fans’ favorite mountains was Killington. Sophomore Lily Graves said, “I love skiing at Killington because of how big it is and because of its awesome lodges.”

Killington has 155 trails and 21 lifts. Of the 155 trails, 17% of them are considered easy, 40% more difficult, and 43% most/extremely difficult. Clearly, this mountain is perfect for all types of skiers. Lift tickets range from $110-175. Killington can get pretty crowded on some weekends, so be aware!

If you are looking to get away from the lift lines and crowds, sophomore Reese King has some recommendations. “Some of my favorite skiing spots on the East Coast include Jay Peak and Mad River Glen.”

We hope to see WHB shredding on the slopes this winter.
