Junior Tori Reichert explained, “My purpose of wearing PLUR bracelets is to express myself.” For Tori they represent having a good time and showing love from her friends. PLUR bracelets are bracelets made of plastic beads customized with words, sayings and designs. These bracelets have become the iconic symbol of dance music, making it an easy way to meet people and be you.
Junior Megan Tanis said, “Some of my PLUR bracelets I have I either got them at a concert, from my friends, or I have made them myself.” Megan’s most valuable PLUR bracelet is a friendship bracelet that her and her friends made together with the saying “bestbuds” on it. She wears it almost everyday.
The most important part of PLUR is the handshake. It signifies acceptance into the culture. It begins with two people making peace signs (Peace), then forming their hands into a heart (Love), next they join their hands (Unity), to end slide their bracelets from one hand to another (Respect).
