Each year we see the campaign videos and the posters crowding the halls, but who are the people behind all this? Who are the people that lead our student body? Each grade has a class president. For the freshmen it’s Zach Ellenhorn, sophomores it’s Conner Hickey, juniors it’s Nora Davenport and seniors it’s Joe Palagonia. Each of these students strives for his or her grade and has a huge responsibility. Students don’t take the time to get to know and appreciate what these four students really do or how they got there in the first place.
Junior Class President: Nora Davenport
Q: What made you want to run for president?
A: “I wanted to run for president because I thought that I could do a fairly good job, in all seriousness I never thought that I would actually get to be president, but then nobody else ran so…I ended up being president anyway.”
Q: What types of things would you like to accomplish?
A: “Well, as of now we are starting to get together our magazine sale, which is to help raise money so that we can decrease the price of our prom tickets. We are also starting to work on junior prom so that it is the best that it can possibly be. We are hoping to put a survey up on Naviance so that we can get the ideas from the students in the junior class and revolutionize prom.”
Q: Who are your other officers?
A: Liana Fitt: Vice President
Gina Arfi: Secretary
Jacob Kearney: Treasurer
Q: Do you plan on running for president again in your senior year?
A: “Probably not due to scheduling and other conflicts; but perhaps I will run for the executive board.”
