Emma Galasso, Staff Editor
Emma is a junior at WHBHS. This is her second year writing for The Hurricane Eye and her first year as editor. She discovered her love for journalism accidentally, when she was enrolled in Journalism by accident her sophomore year; she fell in love. Emma continued on to layout the school paper, report school events, write articles, and build up her photography business. This past summer, she was accepted to the 2013 Robert W. Greene Summer High School Institute for Young Journalists at Stony Brook University. Chosen from over 200 Long Island High school rising juniors and seniors, Emma was the only rising junior out of her class of seventeen. Emma has worked with Pulitzer Prize winning photographer John Conrad Williams as well as critically acclaimed college professors. She now is an anchor as well as an avid contributor in WHBHS’s Broadcast Journalism course. Emma hopes to continue her passion for journalism in college and pursue broadcasting as a career. In the fall of 2015, she hopes to become part of the Class of 2019 at Northeastern University, but she will always be a Hurricane.
