Kate, a sophomore at WHBHS from East Moriches, loves to play basketball, and plays both for WHB girls varsity and Develup, a travel team. On the court, she is always sporting two french braids, and this year, she hopes to lead her team to the LICs. Kate currently has seven cousins in the high school, and in all, she has more cousins than she can count. Every year, Kate’s family travels to Puerto Rico, where they rescued their dog Floyd over 10 years ago. After high school, she hopes to play basketball in college and plans to become a special education teacher in the WHB School District. This is Kate’s first year writing for the Hurricane Eye.
