Peter Traina Takes the Next Step

Peter Traina a Sea Wolf!  Peter, a junior at WHBHS has chosen to take his lacrosse career to a higher level and commit early to Stony Brook University.

Peter has played lacrosse for 11 years and has dedicated most of his time to the sport. Whenever he has the time he practices shooting because that is his advantage against every team he plays.

According to Peter, “I chose Stony Brook because it’s very close to home. Stony Brook’s lacrosse team is very good and the coaches and players make me feel welcomed.”

The Stony Brook Seawolves men’s lacrosse team, which is Division I, had an overall record last year of 9-6.

Peter also visited U Mass and said the campus was nice and they have a competitive Division 1 lacrosse team, but that didn’t change his decision to commit to Stony Brook.

His dedication to the sport since the age of five paid off.  As a freshman from East Moriches, the WHB coaches saw his potential and pulled him up to play varsity level where he has played ever since. He is hoping for a great season this year with the Hurricanes and wants to go to playoffs.

We wish Peter the best of luck and look forward to watching him play for two more seasons as a Hurricane.
