Astros Assistant General Manager Praises Women Abuser
October 23, 2019
The Houston Astros had just won Game Six of the American League Championship Series and were celebrating the World Series appearance in their clubhouse with the traditional champagne shower. However, this sweet night would soon turn sour for the Houston organization.
Assistant General Manager, Brandon Taubman, shouted at three women, “Thank God we got Osuna! I’m so F****** glad we got Osuna!” a reported half-a-dozen times. Roberto Osuna was suspended 75 games in 2018 for violating the Domestic Violence Policy.
At first, the Astros denied it, mentioning that it was overplayed by the Media. Taubman also released a statement to the public. “I am sorry if anyone was offended by my actions” and “My over-exuberance in support of a player has been misinterpreted as a demonstration of a regressive attitude about an important social issue.”
Multiple witnesses and unknown sources claimed quite the opposite, saying that Taubman was being disgusting and unbelievably rude towards those women and others that night.
To make matters worse, the three women were wearing purple wristbands, signifying their support for women who are abused domestically.
MLB has since responded to this matter, saying in a press release, “We’re investigating.” It’s safe to say Brandon Taubman is in trouble if this event is proven true, and the Astros, with the World Series currently taking place, do not want any distractions off the field.
No apology has been made by Taubman, or the Astros as of October 23rd, 2019.
