Harlem Wizards take the Hurricanes by Storm

On March 14th, the Harlem Wizards defeated the Westhampton Beach Hurricanes in a tough hard fought battle. Led by coach John La Mura, Westhampton brought forth a valiant effort and almost upset the comedic team.
The game was really a show but for $15 everyone sure left with a smile. Whether it was actually playing hardcore basketball, dunking, or interacting with the kids, the Harlem Wizards truly left a great feeling in everybody who attended.
Player Kyle Rignola said it was a great experience. “Although I was called Justin Bieber and got a huge wedgie it was a lot of fun playing with those guys. I would definitely do it again.”
The Rotary Club sponsored the event and the Interact Club was there also selling snacks and refreshments. Money raised benefits the Rotary’s numerous and generous scholarships.
Eighth grader Clarke Lewis enjoyed the event as a fan. “It was great to see, everyone of all ages loved the event. It was worth price of admission. I would definitely see them again.”
The Wizards may have won but I think the community definitely left as the winners. Hopefully they come back next year.
