The bowling ball knocks over the pins and we get a League title. The bowling team of WHB is looking forward to a great season.
The co-ed bowling team, coached by Mr. Schaumloffel and Mr. Miller, is a strong team, but sadly many people don’t know about them.
The key players on the team are Zach Laube, Jordan Laube, Francesco Logozzo, Brendan Ehlers, Jesse Chiorando, Eric Caputo, Matt Lieberman and Alex Timms.
Last year, the bowling team started off as a force to be reckoned with, but stumbled late in the season and ended with a 6-6 record. “Last year Paula Logozzo was a key player on our team. She will be hard to replace,” Mr. Schaumloffel said. Paula misses the team as well, remarking, “It was like being part of a family, especially when I was one of the last remaining members of the ’08 team. I miss those guys.”
Mr Schaum has big hopes for this season. “This year’s team should compete for a League title. This team has been playing together for four years. We expect big things from this year’s team.”
Francesco Logozzo wants to make this a season to remember. “I want Westhampton Beach to be League V champions this year. I want to make this season last and enjoy the awesome company of my teammates.”
The team already won their first game vs. Mt. Sinai and their first home game vs. Rocky Point. Their next home game (at Riverhead’s Wildwood Lanes) is Monday, December 12 vs. Southold.
Go support the Hurricane’s bowling team this Thursday and for the rest of the winter season. Bowl over those pins!
