SPFy and Trubambu Win Big at SUNY Farmingdale

Meghan Reilly, Staff Writer

On January 9th, Virtual Enterprises teams SPFy and trubambu competed in the Long Island Trade Show at SUNY Farmingdale.

Virtual Enterprises is an international elective where students can compete in fake online businesses. Fake currency is exchanged between firms, and each student can purchase whatever they want from almost any type of business. From pets to technology, there is a firm for almost everything in existence.

These businesses also compete in trade shows to see which business is the best and most realistic. Some categories that firms can win include best booth and best company branding.

On Tuesday, trubambu, which sells bamboo products to combat deforestation, took first place for four categories: best booth, best commercial, best company branding, and best sales materials.

Both SPFy and trubambu hope to make it to nationals in New York City, and both companies definitely have what it takes to make it there. Wish them luck in the coming weeks!
