On Tuesday November 12th, veterans of the Korean War and WWII visited WHBHS social studies’ classrooms.  Social studies teacher Mr. Bass hosts the veterans annually; this is the 11th year veterans have come to share their experiences, personal stories, and jobs in the military.

Junior Kelly Mead considered the experience of the visit to be “eye opening.” She also said, “The veterans do so much for us; the least we can do is dedicate a day to them.”

Junior Julia Abrams said that she “learned a lot” and she would “definitely want them to come back next year.”

Although we celebrate Veteran’s Day on the 11th day of the 11th month, remember to think about the veterans who sacrifice their lives everyday for our freedoms.
