With a rare two week break approaching, we wanted to find out where the students of Westhampton Beach are heading for the holidays. Some may be spending the winter break at home, traveling abroad or visiting different states.

Sophomore Arianna Villella is going to California for part of the break. She said, “I go almost every year. My favorite part is the weather. It’s nice to get a break from the cold Long Island winter.”

Sophomore Abby Jimenez said, “I’m going to Miami for the break, and I’m definitely excited for the beaches because they don’t compare to the ones on Long island.”

Some are hitting the slopes. Sophomore Addie DeLeva said, “I’m going to go to Vermont for a couple days to ski with my family. I’m so excited I love skiing.”

To escape the cold, junior Scarlett Maag said, “For Christmas break, I’m going away for a week to Costa Rica. I went last year and I met amazing people. I’m mainly planning to spend my time at the beach most of the days.”

Seems like many people are also staying local for Christmas, Bella Ruggiero and Amelia Hope are saving their vacations for February break instead.
