Dante Mansfield is committed to Colgate, one of the top colleges in the country. After looking at many colleges and hours of deciding which one is for him, Colgate stood out to him most.
Colgate is a private university in Hamilton, New York. Colgate is what’s considered a “Hidden Ivy.” It has an acceptance rate of 12% and a D1 athletic program. Colgate University’s ranking is #21 for the best liberal art colleges, and it’s #15 in best value schools.
Dante knew Colgate was the one but he said there were definitely key factors that helped the process. He said, “The major factors were location size and obviously academic rigor. Many of the schools I looked at were smaller schools on the east coast and all were very competitive academically.” With a little more than 3,000 students, Colgate will provide a personalized education.
Dante also visited the campus numerous times to be sure it was the right place for him. He said, “Colgate met all the criteria especially academically and after my third time touring the campus it already started to feel comfortable to me.”
Considering life after college was also important to Dante. He shared, “Another factor that interested me was Colgate’s 98% job placement rate before you graduate and all of the alumni connections and guidance that are always available to any of the students.”
Dante will be following in his father’s footsteps by majoring in International Relations. We wish him luck as he goes off to become a Raider!
