Life after Westhampton Beach, I caught up with 2019 WHB Graduate Morgan Laube who now works in the medical field, with plans to be a neuropsychologist. During her high school years she was an avid member of the French club and ran 100 meter and hurdles for varsity track. A principal’s honor roll student, Morgan took Journalism herself during her sophomore year. She even received the award “Best School News” in BASH for Hurricane Watch. Some of her favorite memories from WHB are the football games, especially homecoming and the pep rallies.
After graduating WHB Morgan attended the University of Alabama. She majored in psychology and minored in anthropology, receiving her Bachelor in Arts of Psychology. At the University of Alabama Morgan was on the President’s list for both her sophomore and junior year, and the Dean’s list as a senior.
What did you like about the University of Alabama?
“I really liked the atmosphere because I was surrounded by such a diverse group of people. One of my favorite things about Alabama is the lifelong friends I made and would recommend it to anyone interested in applying.”
Who or what inspired you to work in the psychology field?
“I’ve always had an interested in psychology, as an undergraduate I took more courses on psychology and found it interesting how much our environment affects our behavior and that it directly impacts our central nervous system”
What is your advice for seniors?
“My advice for seniors would be to enjoy your last year and finish strong. The better you do now, the better your chance of going to your dream school. If your someone who is struggling, college is a different approach and may work better overtime and don’t let it discourage you.”
Currently Morgan Laube works as a medical office assistant at NYU Langone, she’s currently working towards her doctorate in clinical psychology and becoming a neurophysiologist in the future.
