“My mom has inspired me to follow my dreams with passion and put 110% effort into everything I do,” said Alexa White.

Alexa, a WHBHS senior, is one of the captains of the varsity cheerleading team and an above average student. As many people know, she is the winner of the 2017 of Mrs. Hurricane. Aimee White, Alexa’s mom, won Mrs. Hurricane exactly 30 years ago in 1987. Alexa said, “I was really excited when I won Mrs. Hurricane.  It was a shock because the other candidates really are amazing and well-rounded people as well.”

She also said because her mom also won it the moment was so much better.

Recently, Alexa visited Catholic University, her mother’s alma mater. Alexa is interested in Catholic University because “they are ranked top 50 in the career field I want to go into. It’s a gorgeous school and my mom loved it there.”

Alexa and her mom also share a common interest of cheer.  She said, “I started off in gymnastics at a young age and I loved doing PAL cheer. It was an easy transition. I loved cheerleading so now I am deciding if I want to continue in college.”

Like Alexa, Mrs. White cheered during her four years of high school. Alexa aspires to be half the women her mom is one day.
