Harlem Wizards at WHB
As you may know, The Harlem Wizards come to Westhampton Beach High School every year for the entertainment of young kids. Many families get together to bring their children for the event. You have a rowdy crowd the whole time and the players of the Harlem Wizards Game make it a good time. The Westhampton Beach high school players versus the Harlem Wizards.
I interviewed a student from Westhampton who played in the game. He has great things to say about the event. When asking senior student Cory Gaudiello about what the point of the Harlem Wizards game he says “To entertain younger kids who like basketball in the community and also a fundraiser for Rotary.” When asking Cory what his favorite part about the game was he stated “When the players of the Harlem Wizards would get people in the crowd involved in the game.” Cory loved the crowd he explains “The crowd enjoyed the game greatly, everyone had a smile on their face you didn’t see one frown if you looked into the bleachers.”
When asking Cory to pick his favorite player he answered, “My favorite player is Swoop because he was kind of the captain or leader of that team.” He was definitely the funniest one. How did the game end with how many points each “The game ended with the Harlem wizards winning 69-64.” Cory adds more about the game “I had a lot of fun and I encourage more people to attend next year cause it’s a good environment to be around. If I ever play in the game again I guarantee I will win.” The Harlem Wizards game was a great way to get the community going and be together fundraising for the Rotary Club.
